Being inspired by nature and the environment I aim to create contemporary work with the woodland spirit intact allowing the natural beauty to take form and shape the appearance of the furniture as nature intended and constantly reminding us of the origin and the source of this beautiful material.
Design ideas develop on the basis of combining modern needs with an understanding of the way the material works and moves through the seasons. Combining clear clean lines, function & refined practical capabilities for the ease of use giving the user reason to be happy for many years to come.
Larger outdoor projects/sculptures are developed in relation to landscape and site geography.
Working techniques include cabinet making, seasoned wood joinery, green woodworking & joinery, steam bending & carving.
